- create fake reflection
- simple portraits & details textured
- black and white results
- work with silhouette
- pick 2 random photo
- make simple objects look fascinating
- use shadow
- Blend Modes
Tutorial + Progress
- Selecting object, masking and refining hair
Firstly, I used quick selection tool to roughly outline the portrait, and proceed further on refining the selection by "refine edge brush tool" to select hair outline
- Adjust the selection with curve to enhance the highlights and shadow
- Forest layer
To create the growing forest effect there are few steps to create:
firstly, insert forest picture and duplicate it
reposition the images where one is flipped under, create a mask layer, apply brush to create diminishing effect, also to add flexibility on what area you want to reveal
- Clipping mask
apply clipping mask to fit the adjusted forest into the protrait
- Layer blending mode
adding the bird and cloud element was easier, as I only have to position the image and choose respective blending mode, personally I prefer "darken" as it allows the layer to blend better to the background
- Final adjustment
- Exposure
🎨Double Exposure🎨
Reflection
To be honest this assignment itself was rushing process as the particular week having more deadlines, but overall I am satisfied with the outcome. Most importantly I start to realize the power layer masks hold. With layer mask and brushes, they are the key to make double exposure and even surrealism happen.
