 DIGITAL PHOTOGRAPHY AND IMAGING

Lecture
  • Mr.Fauzi taught us basic fundamentals of photography:
    • exposure
    • camera parts
    • IRIS, SHUTTER, ISO
    • LENS perspective
  • Exposure
    📘 amount of light reaching camera sensor
    📘Camera body - shutter & image sensor
    📘Camera lens - iris
  • IRIS control flow of light entering lens

  • Lens
    🧥 lens provide desire framing, lens choice affects angle of view
    🧥 shorter focal length, wider the length of view & vice versa

Task Assigned
  • Provided shazam and heart mansion material, utilize 
    • quick selection tool
    • layer mask
    • filers
    • color correction,
            to make the cut out blend and look natural in the background

Progress
Part 1: shazam
  • I started with trying out different position of shazam
  • color correction adjustments:
    • luminance: 130
    • color intensity: 122
    • fade: 37
      the adjustments are just based on the overall feeling to maximize the harmony between object and background

  • adding noise with 11.07% to better match the image quality
  • shadow and reflection in making
  • i used eraser tool to cut out some portion of layer to make it looking more realistic
Part 2: My reflection
  • the photo taking process is a bit tight since I have back to back schedule but luckily the end product ended up ok for me to proceed
  • during the photo shooting I was trying to find a setting with good lightsource - outdoor
  • the outcome from outdoor isn't satisfactory as the background is too messy it would be hard for me to crop out
  • I then switched to indoor with good lighting, the outcome turns out quite well
  • also I did take note of the eye level and also light source
  • By deciding the pic Im using for the reflection practice, the following process is just the same

Reflection
  • For this exercise it is relatively simple since I had some knowledge with Photoshop already but for digital imaging I learnt that good lighting is essential for any portrait picture taking.
