Digital Photography & Imaging - Week 10

 DIGITAL PHOTOGRAPHY AND IMAGING

💡Week 10💡

Lecture

During lecture Mr. Fauzi taught us more about After Effects where:
  • motion graphics animation are made by manipulating vector and rasterized art
  •  used in post production phase and to manipulate imagery

Tutorial

And at the end of the class we are introduced to basic functions we can use to create a simple animation for a composition.

Through out the tutorial I have learnt:
  • how to apply easy ease to layer motion and edit speed graph
  • transform options like rotate, scale, opacity and position
  • rendering the work
  • adding audio by importing file
  • parent layer effect

Practical

Instruction

Progress
After downloading the PSD composition I started to work and explore around After effect interface, to get familiar with it.

Then by watching the demo video by Mr Fauzi I understood that mainly on how to create key animation frame by tweaking with anchor point, position, scale, rotation and opacity.
Also initially I find the keyframe motion editor a bit hard to understand but along the way I manage to learn to make adjustments and achieve the effect I wanted.
Also I searched for some music clip that I can add into the video and import from after effect:
Last step is to render

Reflection

This week's tasks is comparatively more challenging as this is my first time using after effect. I feel that the things I learnt for this week is a good start and warm up exercise for me to explore what are the possibilities that After Effect can bring.
